On April 13 2013 we're celebrating our 1 year anniversary with a fundraising concert featuring students, faculty and local musicians! Our Founders Day Funder takes place in River Of Life Lutheran Church at 2200 Fremont Ave. N at 6:00 P.M.
This event kicks off our Founder's Funder: a month-long drive with the goal of raising $5,000.00 for new instruments, increased staffing and expanding our current programs.
The Founders Funder wraps up on May 18th with the Swinging' Memories choir festival at Camden Care Center with the Hopewell Choir and Friends.

HMCN believes that community can be strengthened through music education (ie. individual lessons, ensemble participation and the study of music theory,culture/history and composition).
Music Education teaches:
ACCEPTANCE
Accepting the differences of others and the understanding that their differences serve to strengthen the collective.
COOPERATION
Working together for a common purpose to achieve a common goal.
PRIDE
Pride in individual achievement and collective achievement.
Our mission is to provide quality music education through individual lessons, instruments and music for under-served students, and performance venues for the Northside Community of Minneapolis. Additionally, our mission is to create a community in which composers collaborate with ensembles comprised of the teachers and students to premiere their music. Through our efforts, we aim to build a strong community by promoting acceptance, cooperation and pride in our students and partners.
Through a cooperative style program, Hopewell North Music Cooperative commits itself to teaching community building by providing instruction in music to ALL members of the community in the Northside area of Minneapolis regardless of ability or circumstances.
To HNMC, all means all.
