Rose Ensemble Workshops with North Minneapolis Music Students

Members of renowned Twin Cities music group, The Rose Ensemble, worked with students of Hopewell Music Cooperative - North on Monday, September 17th.

Zafer Tawil (left) and Ginna Watson (right) demonstrated various styles of folk music for North Minneapolis music students before leading them in microtonal exercises. The group of Northsiders also learned some Turkish folk music and a Jewish folk song sung in Judaeo-Spanish called Cuando el Rey Nimrod.

The Rose Ensemble will give a  free  concert tomorrow at Church of the Ascension which explores other cultural, linguistic, and religious exchanges through music.
